Unlock the full potential of your Kestrel meters and DROP data loggers by connecting them to the Ambient Weather Network (AWN). Experience real-time data access from any location, ensuring you're always informed and in control.
Stay Connected, Anytime, Anywhere
Kestrel Instruments’ meters and loggers stand out as a reliable source for environmental monitoring, offering a range of tools, including Bluetooth-enabled units that enable users to view data conveniently on their mobile devices. By adding the ability to connect to the cloud via Ambient Weather Network (AWN), these devices offer unparalleled access to weather data, making them invaluable tools for a wide range of users, from researchers to athletic trainers to home gardeners.
How Kestrel Instruments Devices Enhance Environmental Monitoring
Kestrel Instruments are known for their rugged reliability in measuring onsite weather conditions. These devices become even more powerful when coupled with AWN’s cloud-based platform, allowing users to remotely view and analyze weather data. But up until recently, you could only view your Kestrel environmental data on your mobile device via the Kestrel LiNK app within Bluetooth range. Now, Kestrel LiNK devices, including the Kestrel 5000 series meters and Kestrel DROP data loggers, can connect to AWN for extended monitoring capabilities*. You can set up your Kestrel device at any desired location that has an internet connection and then view the onsite conditions from wherever you are -- on the AWN app or Ambientweather.net. You do not have to be onsite to remain in the know about your weather conditions.
AWN takes monitoring capabilities to the next level
AWN app and AmbientWeather.net allows users to monitor onsite conditions quickly and efficiently. Here’s what it offers:
- Remote Monitoring: Track location-specific conditions from anywhere.
- Real-time Data Viewing: Instant access to current conditions.
- Data Management and Logging: Track trends, view graphs, and gain insights.
- Documenting and Reporting: Create reports for compliance
- Custom Dashboard: Tailor your viewing experience and track specific data.
- Alerts: Set up notifications for changing conditions.
The Integration Process
- Connect to LiNK: Using the Kestrel 5000 series with LiNK or DROP data loggers with LiNK, connect to an Android device via Bluetooth.
- Link to AWN: Set up the device to send data to AWN.
- Access Anywhere: Log into AWN to view and analyze data remotely.

Important Note
* It's important to note that the Kestrel LiNK device data transfer to the AWN cloud platform functionality is specific to Android devices, as the integration with AWN and the transmission of data via the LiNK app relies on the Android platform's capabilities.
The Android device must be within Bluetooth range and connected to the internet in order to transmit data from the Kestrel device to the AWN cloud platform. This allows for real-time monitoring and data analysis from virtually anywhere.
