Kestrel Instruments Support & FAQs

Hi there, I have 75 Kestrels that need to be calibrated. they do not need to be certified. I am looking at ordering the calibration kits. how many kestrels will 1 kit cover? and is it accurate n saying it takes 50 hours to calibrate a unit???

Hello, The calibration kits can be used indefinitely as long as you don't contaminate the two salt mixtures. So theoretically you could do all 75 with one kit but it would take some time to complete. The actual procedure on the Kestrels is an hour at one RH level and an hour at another RH level but we want to allow the Kestrels 24 hours in the container before running the process. That is why we say 50 hours but really 48 hours are just the Kestrel sitting in the containers. You can space them out to have 2 going at one time with one kit, one in one jar, one in another. But it really depends the timeframe in which you need to complete these. So more kits would allow more Kestrels to be calibrating at one time. Hope this helps. Regards, Joe Racosky jracosky@nkhome.com
